Frequently asked questions about booking, fasting, testing, results, cost and treatment eligibility at iLIV Clinic. If your question is not here, just ask us directly.
Before you come in
Do I need to book or can I walk in?
Booking is strongly advised, particularly for morning fasting blood draw slots, because early morning slots fill first. Walk-ins are seen when a slot is free, but we cannot guarantee a doctor is available at the time you arrive.
Do I need to fast for every test?
No. Most blood panels need an eight to twelve hour fast, and you may drink plain water throughout. Tests that do not need fasting include HbA1c, ApoB and most hormone panels. Timing still matters for cortisol and sex hormones, so we send full instructions when we confirm your booking rather than on the day you arrive.
What should I bring?
Identification, your current medication and supplements, and previous blood test results if you have them.
The consultation
How long is the first consultation?
Between forty five minutes and an hour, depending on how complex your history is.
Can consultations be done online?
Follow-ups can. The first consultation is done at the clinic because it involves a physical examination.
Tests and results
How long do results take?
A base panel takes three to five working days. A stool panel takes five to seven. Genetic panels take three to four weeks, because samples travel to a specialist laboratory.
Can I bring results from another clinic?
Yes, and we encourage it. It helps us avoid repeating tests you have already had.
Can I get my results interpreted by message?
No. The numbers have to sit alongside your clinical history, so we schedule a results reading session separately.
Treatment and eligibility
How is eligibility for treatment decided?
After consultation and testing, never through an online form. Some medical conditions rule out particular approaches, and we discuss that before anything starts.
Why are treatment prices not published here?
Because of medical advertising approval requirements in Malaysia. Treatment pages that need that approval are not published until it is granted. Read our editorial standards.
Cost and payment
When do I find out the cost?
We give panel and consultation costs at booking, or by message before you come in, so nothing surprises you on the day.
Can I use a company plan or insurance?
Tell us early so we prepare invoices in the format your provider requires.
Records and privacy
Who can access my records?
We hold patient records under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We do not share records with third parties without your written consent, except where the law requires it. Full detail sits in our privacy policy.
Can I request a copy of my results?
Yes, at any time, in a form you can take to another clinic.
