The accuracy of a result depends on the lab partners that process it, not only on the clinic that takes the sample. This page lists the laboratories we use, so you know where your sample is processed and can check their accreditation yourself.
Our lab partners in Malaysia
- Premier Integrated Labs is our main lab partner for routine blood panels, with 33 sample collection locations across Malaysia. That is what lets patients outside the Klang Valley have blood drawn near home before coming in for the results reading session.
- Accura Healthcare is used for disease and hormone level panels when a faster turnaround is needed.
- Synnova is a specialised wellness laboratory we use for heavy metal related testing.
Specialist lab partners overseas
A small number of panels are processed overseas because they are not available locally. For these, turnaround is longer, usually three to four weeks, and we tell you before you agree to the test.
- NutriPath in Australia for gut health, mineral and heavy metal panels.
- ATGenes in Thailand for whole exome and whole genome sequencing and other genetic testing.
Genetic profiling and how it is read
Genetic testing produces raw data that means nothing without interpretation. We work with Supagene for personal genetic profiling covering disease risk, lifestyle and cancer risk, and AThenaAI, which helps doctors read genetic data against current genetic databases. See the genetic testing page for the scope of the panels offered.
How we choose lab partners
- Laboratory accreditation, and whether that accreditation can be checked
- Consistent turnaround, rather than simply the fastest
- Reference ranges appropriate for the local population
- Reports that can be read back for year on year comparison
How the choice of lab affects your results
Reference ranges differ slightly between laboratories, so knowing which lab ran a panel matters when you compare an old result with a new one. When a test is repeated we try to use the same laboratory, so the comparison is fair. If a different laboratory is used, we say so during the results reading session, because a difference in method can explain part of an apparent change. Read our editorial standards and the health screening page for the panel list.
Clinical partners for referral
Beyond the laboratories, we also work with specialists for cases outside the clinic’s scope, including endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology and gynaecology. A referral goes out with a clinical summary and a copy of your test results, so the specialist does not repeat the same investigation from scratch and you do not pay twice for overlapping panels. After the specialist assessment we continue follow-up in line with their recommendations.
