Nutraceutical Support
Supplements recommended for a specific reason, with dose, duration, and a way of judging whether they are working.
Nutraceuticals at iLIV means supplements recommended for a specific reason, with a stated dose and a set duration. They are recommended after consultation and often after testing. We do not sell supplement packages and we do not recommend something simply because it is popular.

Who this is for
- You already take several supplements, often for years, without anyone checking whether you still need them
- You are not sure whether the dose you take is enough to do anything
- Nobody has ever told you when to stop
- You take prescription medication and want to know whether anything interacts
How it runs
- 01Bring everything you already takeBottles included if you can. What we look for is overlap, doses that are not meaningful, interactions with your prescription medication, and items that no longer have a reason to continue.
- 02Every recommendation comes with four thingsThe reason, meaning what in your history or results makes it relevant. The dose, stated clearly. The duration, meaning how long before it gets reviewed. And how to judge it, meaning what will tell us whether it should continue.
- 03If all four cannot be answered, it is not recommendedThat is the same test for every item, without exception.

Testing usually done first
Not every test here is ordered for everyone. The consultation decides which are needed.

Three problems that come up repeatedly
| Problem | What it costs you |
|---|---|
| The dose is too low to do anything | You are paying for something with no effect |
| There is no end date | Something meant for three months continues for three years |
| Nothing was measured before or after | There is no way to know whether it is working |
The nine categories we work with
The most useful part for most people is not adding anything. It is reviewing what is already there.
| Category | What it usually supports |
|---|---|
| Metabolic | Blood sugar handling, insulin sensitivity, and weight support alongside treatment |
| Gut and digestive | Digestive enzymes, fibre, pre and probiotics, gut lining support |
| Hormone | Menopause and perimenopause support, estrogen metabolism, inositol for PMOS |
| Sleep and stress | Magnesium, sleep support, adaptogens, cortisol rhythm |
| Mitochondrial and energy | CoQ10, B vitamins, carnitine, and cofactors for energy production |
| Cardiovascular | Omega-3, plant sterols, and support for lipid and blood pressure targets |
| Liver and detoxification | Liver function and the detoxification pathways |
| Micronutrient restoration | Iron, vitamin D, B12, folate and methylation, zinc, magnesium |
| Healthy ageing and cellular | NAD precursors, antioxidants, and cellular repair support |
Limits and who this does not suit
Supplements do not correct an eating pattern that is not supporting you, and they do not replace sleep. Where a deficiency genuinely exists and has been confirmed, correcting it can make a clear difference. Where it does not exist, adding more rarely helps.

- We do not recommend supplements as treatment for conditions that require medical treatment
- Several common supplements interact with blood thinners, thyroid medication and some blood pressure drugs. If you take any prescription medication, list all of it
Common questions
Do I have to buy supplements from the clinic?
No. You can buy them anywhere. What matters is the ingredient, the dose and the quality of the manufacturer, not where it was purchased.
Do I need tests first?
For some recommendations yes, because without a baseline there is no way to know whether it is working. For others, the history is enough.
How long do I take it for?
Every recommendation comes with a duration and a review date. If nobody has told you when to stop, that recommendation was incomplete.
Are the supplements used registered?
Product registration status in Malaysia can be checked through NPRA. What gets used depends on metabolic assessment results, not on a fixed list.
What is the next step?
Nutraceutical support follows the results, not the other way round. Book a consultation or see the relevant tests.
Every iLIV guide is written and reviewed under our editorial standards, and each one carries the name of the reviewing doctor together with their MMC registration number.
Treatments on the same pathway
Not all of these suit everyone. The doctor assesses first.
